Are they blind, lazy, or do they just lie to people?

I've been watching this show for a week now, because I need to shop for a new job.

Most of the people end up looking better, but Stacy and Clinton often tell people they look in really awful outfits. They wouldn't let the girl with big hips buy black slacks and they gave her halter dresses that made her look like a big triangle.

Today they told Mimi (the Indy producer) that she looked good in that pink trench coat. It was awful. It didn't fit right, the collar was hitting her in the face and it looked terribly nerdy.

Do they have bad taste? Or do they just get tired of dealing with someone and tell them something looks good even when it doesn't?
