I like this one more than the garde one, it is more epic... best movie of 1888!

reply

yes it was better casted. i also hated the special effects, and the script of this movie

reply

What script? How can a two second film about traffic on a bridge have a script? Plus, this was made before special effects were used in films!

reply

lol...you retard.

reply

i disgree!

Roundhay Garden Scene is the worst! it bored me to death. this film actually is well-written, beautifully directed and the cast gave a very convincing performance.

reply

WOW, nice movie, so what happened to the horse ?

you guys crack me up!! LOL!

I find your lack of faith disturbing.

reply

I dont know I missed the movie sence it was not even 3 seconds long I blinked then it was over what happend in the movie.

reply

Roundhay Garden Scene had better acting and a better protagonist. I mean check out the constipated expression on his face as he walks around the garden.

reply

I disliked the score. However, the cast in "Roundhay Garden Scene" was brilliant.

This movie was boring as hell. it was hard to sit trough it.

reply

[deleted]

WHAT THE HELL! ITS ONLY TWO SECONDS! THERE IS NO PLOT! YOU GUYS ARE STUPID lol.
It is amazing, though, to see stuff that old

reply

It's so interesting to see these ancient films.

I think I like this one more than Roundhay. I found Roundhay to be dragging and dull, while Leeds Bridge is action packed and I felt my adrenaline pumping when I saw that horse move.

It's only two seconds! You sit down, watch it, and get up in two seconds! THAT'S IT!

reply

Lol. I just love how some simple people don't understand satire...

Although I have the soundtrack for this on DVD, it's epic! Much better than Roundhay Garden Scene, whose soundtrack is a bit limp and boring,

reply

I think the plot was too hard to follow, and the horse was a ham!

reply

I found the plot rather predictable, the director obviously used all possible clichés for an action movie.

reply

Yeah, this really is a bad movie. Well, honestly I haven't seen it. Why? Because during the two seconds the movie was shown, I was blinking ! Can you blame me for this !..

Well, I am joking :)
I would really like to see these... :)

reply

So did the bad guy escape on the horse or what? This film was very confusing!

reply

I think the filmmakers deliberately left that open, because they've planned a sequel originally, but because the movie flopped at the box office, it was never made.

reply

Oh well, what are you gonna do?

reply

can't wait to see: Traffic Crossing Leeds Bridge 2 (2007) :)

reply

Well, I've got some good news, and some bad news...
Bad news: there won't be a "Traffic Crossing Leeds Bridge 2"... :(
But the good news is: Hollywood is doing a remake of the original! Starring Harrison Ford (a passer-by) and Keira Knightley (lady on the horse)! And Forest Whittaker is going to have a cameo! Wow!

reply

>>>wait to see: Traffic Crossing Leeds Bridge 2 (2007) :)

Hey, shhhh.... Don't give them any ideas. We have enough boring reality shows on tv now, we don't need them in the movie theatres also.

TROLLomatic

reply

Omg don't you realise??? This is a sequel to Roundhay Garden Scene! It's the high speed chase after the murder!!!

reply

You guys should be comedians.

This was definitely the highest grossing movie of 1888, and is considered to be the first epic actionmovie. Never had a film included so many extras and the total budget was the gigantic £2!
Man, what a blockbuster!!!

My movies: http://www.imdb.com/mymovies/list?l=10363918

reply

It was an effin blockbuster because of Mr. T's cameo.

reply

I agree with the people laughing at you guys only because of the fact that you can't call it a movie. a movie is a full-length feature...this was only 2 seconds...if you blink watch it again....and these were the ONLY movies made in 1888 so who cares how it is....it's 1888! it's not going to be full-feature, they didn't have that capabilities. all it was, was some dude facinated with the invention, made a home movie (roundhay) then made this. it's that simple...

Now what I'm going to ask is where anyone actually finds these films, cause I would actually like to see this, roundhay, and the great train robbery...none of which I can find....

reply

[deleted]

Obviously, you didn't understand the satire in their posts or in the original production. If it had been 3 seconds longer then they could have packed in a horse and cart chase or something.

reply

[deleted]

The acting was horrible, and the color? What was that.

R.I.P, Lemmiewinks.
You've crossed the finish line, won the race but lost your mind.

reply

To be honest, I thought the film dragged on a bit...
Original title though, I can see how it drew audiences to watch it.

reply

A director must tame his ego before working with such control over a vast, sprawling canvas. The whole 'Horse' concept must have been what Coppola was trying to channel when he filmed that French Plantation scene.

reply

I agree with dj_pappi: this is obviously the sequel to Roundhay Garden, the first one was a drama, and then the producers tried to give it a comercial twist with the action feature: Traffic Crossing Leeds Bridge, nevertheless as usual, the sequel was not as good as the original. Roundhay kicked the ass out of Leeds Bridge in the 1888 academy awards, don't you people read news?
Best picture of 1888: Roundhay Garden
Best director of 1888: Louis Le Prince (for "Roundhay Garden")
Best actor: Adolphe Le Prince (as "the son" in "Roundhay Garden")
Best actress: Sarah Whitley (as "the mother in-law" in "Roundhay Garden")
Best supporting actor: Joseph Whitley (as "the father-in-law" in "Roundhay Garden")
Best supporting actress: Harriet Hartley (as herself in "Roundhay Garden")
Best cinematography: Louis Le Prince (for "Roundhay Garden")
Best original screenplay: Louis Le Prince (for "Roundhay Garden")
Best art direction: Louis Le Prince (for "Roundhay Garden")

Actually, the only categories that went for "Traffic Crossing Leeds Bridge" were:

Best production: Louis Le Prince (for "Traffic Crossing Leeds Bridge")
Best special effects: Louis Le Prince (for "Traffic Crossing Leeds Bridge")

Roundhay Garden won a total of 9 academy awards in 1888, holding the record for 71 years, until finally in 1959 Ben-Hur outnumbered it, by winning a total of 11 awards
