The iPod killed Dowd

Brilliant documentary about an amazing individual. It doesn't surprise me that the man that witnessed the a-bomb explosions on Bikini Atoll would record John Coltrane and Ray Charles.

Considering how 'tinny' the bass sounds on iPods, I find it suspicious that the man would die right around its launch date.

Not just Tom Dowd, but I think the iPod killed music in general. No one seems to care about arrangements or albums anymore, except for me and probably you and a few others. Instead of hit songs, eventually composers will just write ringtones.
