Why do people glorify serial killers?

Most people who are interested in serial killers are like you, they are fascinated by serial killers, but they sure don't idolize them. Most people who DO seem to be fans of these people are either confused, stupid, or just trying to get attention.

Because my friend, they are out of their minds and I bet if their idol killed them or one of their loved ones then they would wake up from their delusional spells.

I agree with the other two replies here. I also have a fascination with serial killers, mainly because their thought pattern is simply so foreign to me. I don't understand for a second how somebody could brutally murder people, and it does sicken me, but I'm also extremely curious about how their minds became so utterly twisted. I'm also creating a story that involves a serial killer as a main character (although he's more of a "cartoony" character and I'm sure his behavior is extremely unrealistic for a serial killer).

That said, I agree with you entirely. It's one thing to have a curiosity and fascination with serial killer stories, but another matter entirely to actually admire these figures. Make no mistake that in between poring through articles on such individuals as Ted Bundy, John Gacy, Jack the Ripper, and B.T.K., I cannot help but suppress a horrific shudder at the thought of what these people had done. It is not something to be admired or idolized.

Serial Killers are fascinating, and I do believe even the public are crazy especially the ones that say " I hope he dies a slow painful death ", than is a bit off the wall nuts.

Every person is morbid, and a bit nutty that love serial killers or hate them.
