Ramirez... pure evil?

I realize we've had Dahmer, Gacey, Bundy, Gein, Speck, and other notorious, seemingly senseless, killers. We've had Hitler and other genocidal mass murders, but there crimes were political. Horrible, but at least done with a motive that in their own minds were for the good of their country. But there's something about Richard Ramirez that I find infinately fascinating and chilling. As an aspiring artist, I obviously base alot of my opinions on visuals... and with that in mind, I believe Richard Ramirez is, or was, the embodiment of pure evil, if you believe in such a force. It's his face. From all the court room pictures I've gone over on the internet, he just seems to embody pure evil, more than any other killer. Even his crimes, as horrible as any other killer, don't compare to his face. I mean, I suppose his face has an element of charm. I've read messages and heard he gets plenty of mail from women who find him attractive. He's even got kind of a cool Billy Idol snear, but I literally see evil when I look at his face.

I don't really adhere to any religion, but I do believe in the supernatural, and I believe that evil exists as a force, in opposition to good like the Chinese yin and yang... But I see pure evil when I see Richard Ramirez.

that really depends on what you wanna see in him. if you wanna see him as the impersonation of evil, you will see a cold stare, dead eyes, scornful looks at judge/jury/whatever, amused smirks when brutality and death is mentioned. if you wanna see him as a poor unfortunate dude who's just a little bit *beep* up, you'll see a guy that poses as the evil nightstalker, and acts his part fairly well, you'll see a person begging for attention, even though it costs him his life, you'll see a victim of society, norms, bad childhood, all these things and then you'll feel pity for him. then again if you wanna see him as a madman, you'll see a killer/rapist, a natural born criminal who doesn't even rationalize his own actions, a person who lets his own feelings/urges take control to such degree that he won't think about what he's doing.

personally i don't think there is such thing as pure evil in a human, or at least i don't think so. it ain't possible, because things are never that simple. as for ramirez, i think he's a little bit of all 3 extremes, haha

Good point. My research of Ramirez was really done out of idle curiosity and was not that extensive, so I suppose the sneering courtroom images were simply the extreme part of his personality, and of course, that's what is going to be remembered and publicized the most.

Old thread but thought I'd contribute.
From everything I've read, Ramirez never physically hurt or killed any children, except for tying them up during his murders.
He's definitely an evil man but I guess the fact that he spared the children's lives proved he wasn't pure evil? But then again we may never know his reasons.
