great movie

definitely my favourite movie of the International Filmfestival Rotterdam
I saw it at the 25th of january, too bad that I missed the screening of the day before when Killinggänget was present.
A great portrait of human behaviour in general and human behaviour in Sweden in particular.

I totally agree, I also saw this movie in Rotterdam and I was there when the Killinggänget was present. I thought this movie was hilarious and I hope a DVD of this movie will be released with either english of dutch subtitles.

Personally, I hope they release the tv-series version, since it's longer and more indepth.

I simply loved the film and the TV series. It makes you laugh, cry and even cry out in horror. It's a comedy and a tradegy at the same time, and I didn't feel depressed afterwards, quite the contrary. It certainly made me reflect upon all the different aspects of life. My favourite segment is the one about the man that works in the pet crematory.

There's one thing one of the makers said in an interview prior to the release, that I'll never forget. To explain how you're supposed to laugh, and then feel bad for having fun when watching it. "You have to pay with a piece of your soul every time you laugh."

I think it's an awesome* film, well beyond any definition like comedy or tragedy. It speaks directly to the soul, and it tells you life is largely dark and horrible and painful and pointless, but maybe the little good parts make it worth it.

I remember when I first watched it, together with a very special friend of mine, it was quite an occasion. We didn't sleep, just talked about it all night. Lacking words to adequately describe it, I can only say it's one of those movies you never forget.

(*The word "awesome" is used so much these days, it's sort of lost its meaning. I like to use it like Metatron does in "Dogma", describing God's voice: He makes it sound like the most superme superlative in any known language.)
