Uneven acting

Writing this in English, though 95% who see this are undoubtedly from Sweden... anyway, I finally watched this highly rated movie, and liked it a lot. It was however more uneven than I expected. I think some of the stories were better developed than others, and I think the acting and style of acting, differed a little too much. Compare this to "Short Cuts", where the style of acting and the overall tone is much more consistent, even if the stories are very different.

I want to mention the performance of Iwar Wiklander as the magician-husband, who did an incredible job. I think he was quite a bit like Geoffrey Rush, and he was as good as Geoffrey Rush, if you ask me.

Jonas Inde was very good in the Dalarna segment, but in the Skåne segment (as the "retard") he fell back into the bad slapstick he tends to use when he's not properly directed.

Maria Krantz was outstanding as the suffering wife of the burn victim, but everyone knows that already. I think Johan Rheborg is very good, in his own special way. The scene where his narcissist dork character suddenly became real and asked for "a place in this world" was truly outstanding, among the best in the movie.

All over, not truly great on an international level, but as far as Swedish movies go, way above average.

Agree about Johan Rheborg, the scene whre he aks about "his place in the world" at first it makes you laugh but then as he proceeds to explain about his situation he makes you choke on your own laughter. On the other hand I disagree about Inde, sure the character of Ray was comical relief but if you just compare that and the other caracter he payed in the movie you will notice the range he has as an actor, you can hardly believe it's the same person
