casting room scene

I was talking to a casting director about the scene in Ham and Cheese where the guy tries to make an impression by 'forgetting something' in the room and goes back for it so that they'll remember him. He said that that actually does happen to him, and that actors going overboard in order to stand out (hello australian accent) is really common as well.

I would love to sit on a casting session - God I hope I've never done anything like this...

ps. was that scene shot at Fade 2 Black?

Yes! The "Australian Accent" casting scene was filmed at Fade To Black --- Michael not only cast the film, but was a HUGE supporter of Ham & Cheese. Thank you for spotting that Melanie! And yes, almost all the audition gags in the film actually really happen in real life --- and many happened during the casting for Ham & Cheese itself. Life imitates Art imitates Life. WPS.
