You should watch some other danish movies. This is similar to many danish movies from that period.

It's a movie about a banker who stops a bank robbery and then gets convinced that his action was wrong and decides to make up for it by breaking out the bank robber and robbing a bank.

Adams æbler
It's about a violent neo-nazi who gets sent to a church in order to learn not to be violent. At the church there are many other small time criminals, and the priest working there has a cancer tumor and is completely in denial about his situation in life.

Blinkende lygter
The movie is about a group of small time criminals with various bad childhoods that gets explored during the movie. The main character wants to get out of his criminal ways and settle down.

Check out "The hunt" too. It's great movie.

I just watched the Korean movie "The Quiet Family" and it just made me think of this movie again....has some big name Korean actors near the beginning of their careers - interesting similarities - I'd recommend it. Not the best out there by any means, but then I didn't think "De grønne slagtere" was among the best of the Danish movies I've seen either. That said, Adams æbler is easily one of my favorite movies and would definitely recommend that.
