Favorite song from CAMP!

What would have to be your favorite song from CAMP? Any song, that anyone sings... Mine would either have to be Vlad singing Wild Horses or Century Plant... Those 2 are great!

And my least favorite song would deffinately have to be Turkey Lurkey Time! Grawr! That one was so ridiculous! Why did they even put it in the movie???

mines was jenna's song "heres where i stand" and dee's song "how shall i see u through my tears"

I really liked "Turkey Lurkey Time" and would say it was my favorite song in the film, though I can certainly understand why someone who liked most of the rest of the soundtrack might not like it. It is very different from most of the songs.

I suspect they put it in because it was a good song to demonstrate a classic Broadway production number; it has dancing (both individual and group), singing (likewise), and is a set piece which doesn't require any knowledge of the plot of the source play to be enjoyed by viewers seeing it now. One need never have seen (or even heard of) "Promises Promises" or "The Apartment"(on which the musical was based) to get full appreciation of the number. It may also have been a ploy for additional attention, since "Promises Promises" has never been filmed or given a major Broadway revival, and the number would be a bit of an artifact for future audiences, in addition to being a potential selling point for the DVD.

i too like "Turkey Lurkey Time" it's very broadway and i loved the song and liked that we got to see the actors dance and sing which was very good. I also like "Here's Where I Stand" and "How Shall I see you Through My Tears" both have great vocals and the song is just good.

Turkey Lurkey. Alana (Jill) sounded great.

reply

Definitely Turkey Lurkey!
Alana Allen rocked that number!
Now being imitated in high school's across the country, although no one could capture the essence and energy of that song and dance number the way Alana Allen did. Alana Allen is a Fabulous all around performer and actress! Quite easy on the eyes as well as Talented............Same goes for Anna Kendrick in q quirky sort of way..
Ladies Who Lunch also Fabulous and FUN to watch!

my favorite song was "ladies who lunch", and i mean it as a song, cuz the whole trowing up part was gross, but after wards, when fritzi( anna kendrick) sings it, is great!

The "throwing up" part was actually the most amusing part in that number. That was also the most difficult to pull off. Alana Allen was brilliant in that scene and played it with great skill.
Without that scene, that number would have been boring.
Fritzi was Suppose to upstage Jill, but in reality My guess is that Alana Allen could actually kick Anna's butt vocally if given the opportunity to deliver her full potential the way Anna Kendrick was.

"Here's Where I Stand" is probably mine (what an AMAZING voice she has!!!), with a very honorable mention going to both "Century Plant" and "The Want of a Nail." I *HATED* "Turkey Lurkey Time." HATED. However, the whole soundtrack is very listenable! It's the best part of the film!
