Question about the 'getting softer every day' part...

One of my most favorite parts in the film is when Bukowski is reading an article to the camera about his old girlfriend, Linda, and he begins to cry. It's something like "The miracle of love. Linda, you gave it to me. When you take it away, take it away slowly and easily. Make it seem as though I were dying in my sleep instead of in my life." That is definitely not verbatim, as I'm quoting from poor memory. But I remember it being one of the most beautiful quotes I think I've ever heard. I've scoured the books I haven't read and I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know where he is reading that from?

The Name of this Poem is "The Shower"; This Poem Can Be Found in the Book "Mockingbird Wish Me Luck" - It is the Second-to-Last Poem in the Book; The Two Poems That Surround it are also Among Bukowski's Finest: "Style" and "If We Take" and There Are Many Other Great Poems Here as well.

Hope You Find This Book, it's one of His Earlier Ones (Late 60's/Early 70's)

Good Luck!
