Don't forget Julia Sweeney being miscast for Beth when Bonnie Hunt as Alice worked better. Don't get me wrong, I like Julia Sweeney, she's funny. If anything, Mel Gibson or Tim Allen should've took over Charles Grodin's place...

shareBig Break, Christmas Adventure, and Treasure Tail are evidence that the company wanted to do something different as opposed to playing the Home Alone card and rehash what worked in the early 90's. But Universal hasn't put out a new film in years, so I'm sorry to break your heart, but there won't be a new one coming out anytime soon. If they were to put out something new, it would be a short film released on streaming services.
