I managed to find a 30 second intro on Youtube which I was quite excited about since I remember it quite vividly. In my remembrance of it, I swear there was a song in the introduction. However, there is no song in it at all but just strange noises and howling at the end. So I was wondering, was there actually a song at the beginning or not and if there was, what were the words and do you have a link to hear/see it? Thank you for the help. Here is the link to the one I've seen on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TchSV1OOs34
Indeed, there were. Season 1 has sorta of a grim orchestral soundtrack. In contrast, season 2 which is even darker then the first one, the intro and ending has a womam singing in a very feel good-style of song.
I can't remember for sure the exact lyrics to season 2 without rewatching my episodes again, but I think it was something like:
"Across the sea and over ships, onto land, Jim my lad, you'll find the key to the gold, on Treasure Island"
Please be aware that the above lyric is totally off the top of my head as I haven't watched any series 2 episodes in quite a while.
By the way I'm the guy who originally submitted The Legends of Treasure Island on TV.com (then Tvtome) I have all 26 episodes on video, but never got around to completing the episode guide sadly!
Oh and if you like The Legends of Treasure Island, you will probably like The Dreamstone as well! Check out my Dreamstone fan site at: www.geocities.com/dreamstone_guide
You have ALL 26 episodes?!? You lucky devil! I have to admit, the last 3 words 'On treasure island' I do remember because that was when they did a close up on Pew (have to remember this is from a memory from of someone who was about 6 years old) and I think the 'Jim my lad' bit was when he jumped onto that rocky slide thing. Why the heck was I taping Power Rangers at the time when I could've taped this series?!?! I remember one with a ghostly girl I think was called Emily, I liked that one. I remember Dreamstone, I loved Dreamstone. Why aren't these programmes widely available? Do you remember Fantom Cat?
Yep have all the episodes on VHS and yes the episode with the ghost girl is from series 2 and is actually called 'Emily'!
I'm guessing the video company who released the episodes got the titles from the original scripts as non of The Legends of Treasure Island episodes ever displayed title cards at the start of each episode. That's how I got all the titles for the TV.com page (from the aussie VHS releases) Although some came from Radio Times mags as well I think.....
As for why LOTI is not available, is because of it's age I guess. I know ITV said they probably won't show The Dreamstone in the near future because I believe they said the animation was a bit 'dated' Perhaps the same would apply for LOTI in their eyes?
As far as a DVD release goes, I doubt that will happen either since LOTI has such a small fan base and sales would therefore be too low. I mean, there isn't even a proper fan site out there!
If your interested in the eps at all send me a private message.
Thanks for that link! I managed to get it to play in the time to the clip I've got with the clip's sound off and I could remember parts of it. It is such a shame that there is limitations in viewing this as I've only got that one clip from the intro. Stupid 'datist' society! Once again, thanks for the link.
