I saw this movie in San Diego with 3 friends and all of us were blown away by it. The opening scene is very powerful and sets the tone for the range of emotions this film touches on. I definitly recommend people go see Self Medicated and find out for themselves why this movie won so many awards in 2006.

And listen, is it truly possible that I'm not connected to Mony Lapica in any way at all and just enjoyed the movie and the fact that it portrayed a true story about a real place, branches of which still exist and torture kids every day? And be happy that SOMEONE finally got the word out? Answer me that.
shareOK, fine. You being a kid explains a whole lot. Many of the movies that I thought were great when I was a kid and I have goten a chance to watch again now turned out to be complete crap from the much more mature way that I use to evaluate movies now.
In any case, I'm entitled to my opinion as are you, so we can end it here. I was just annoyed that you took my opinion that this movie sucks so personally. It really did seem like you are the one who made it. People can have different opinions on things. To me this movie went from kind of OK to extremely cheesy at the end and was full of absolutely horrible acting - worst acting I've seen in a very long time. Maybe if you watch it again in 10-15 years you'd agree with me.

sharehonestly, this movie was really powerful to me...i've seen a lot of films and this one really hit me...i like the "you just have to fix things of your own" message...everyone's such a wuss now a days and have to be "reformed" or take medication...of course this is my opinion and i don't give a sh!t who thinks it sucks
shareI rly liked thisone it had a rly nice storyline crappy acting but the story made this a good film. As for the people before a film can have bad actors in it but that doesn't make the film terrible... imo the storuline is more important.
