What's the best killer scarecrow movie?

I saw "Scarecrow" and "Dark Harvest" at Blockbuster and was sort of tempted to rent them because I like the idea of a killer scarecrow, but after seeing the user ratings I'm kinda glad I didn't. I found a lot of movies which apparently have killer scarecrows, although judging by the user ratings most of them sound pretty awful.

Scarecrow (2002) (V) user rating: 3.4
--sequel: Scarecrow Slayer (2003) (V) user rating: 2.2
Dark Harvest (2004) (V) user rating: 2.3
(plus two movies released as Dark Harvest sequels, even though they're not really sequels at all)
--The Maize: The Movie (2004) user rating: 1.3
--Skarecrow (2004) user rating: 1.8
Kakashi (2001) -- Scarecrow (USA) (literal English title) user rating: 5.3
Dark Night of the Scarecrow (1981) (TV) user rating: 6.5
The Scarecrow (1982) user rating: 5.2
Night of the Scarecrow (1995) user rating: 4.4
Scarecrow Gone Wild (2004) (V) user rating: 2.9
Psycho Scarecrow (2000) (V) user rating: 2.8
Nightwalkers (2003) (V) (has one segment about a scarecrow) user rating: 2.9

TV shows:
"Supernatural" episode: Scarecrow (2006) user rating: 8.9
"Martin Mystery" episode: Night of the Scarecrow (2005) user rating: none

What is probably, as far as I know, the only decent killer scarecrow movie to be made is an obscure 1988 film called Scarecrows (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0096046). It has a user rating of 6.3, and, although it's been nearly 10 years since I've seen it, I seem to remember it being a worthwhile horror flick (good luck finding it though; to my knowledge, there has been no region 1 DVD release of this movie, with no plans for one in the future). Far better than this steaming pile of crap which me and some buddies caught on SciFi Channel several weekends ago. Unintentionally hilarious is, without a doubt, the best thing that can be said about it. And the fact that somebody actually put forth the money and effort to make a sequel to it is mind-boggling.

try jeepers creepers 2, it really has nothing to do with scarecrows except for a tiny part at the beginning, but i still think its a fun movie to watch.

The best horror film about killer scarecrows is the 80's flick SCARECROWS which will debut on DVD on September 11th!

Aye "Scarecrows" is probably the best one. Anyone seen children of the corn 3? Theres a scarecrow that comes to life in that movie and I always thought that was done really well, much better than most the other Scarecrow movies, not that COTC3 is a good film course.

ARH!, SHarK!

(shark attack 3 MEGALODON)

WTF!!

The "Tales from the Crypt" scarecrow episode was great.

Dark night of the Scarecrow is a pretty good made for TV movie. its pretty creepy too.

unfortunatly its pretty rare but the whole thing is up on youtube

and as for this movie i thought it was way better than what i heard. although everytime i put a movie in expecting pure *beep* im always pleasently surprised usually.

Thanks for the comprehensive list of movies featuring killer scarecrows!

Yeah. Scarecrow movies all suck, and your notion that they could in any way be scary or worthwhile is pretty much wrong.
