Hilarious

Gotta say, about 95% of the movies I end up renting are horror flicks. Good or bad, some worth it, some not. Nerd that I am I usually rent all the horror flicks from A-Z then move on to the next rental place. So I've seen a ton.
In comparison, I found that Scarecrow actually isn't that brutal to watch. The fact that it's SO bad makes it hilarious. I mean some of the lines:

Mom's Drunken Boyfriend: That kid was a loser anyways.
Scarecrow: Takes one to know one...loser.
MDB: Who's talkin to me?
Scarecrow: Hup! (while doing a typical scarecrow ninja flip). Hey Daddy-O!
MDB: *screams*

LOL, it's amusing to think someone thought this would make a good script.

This was way better as a comedic bad movie than a horror flick.

My personal favorite is when the drunk redneck guy is harassing Lester, and he says something like, "Why don't you draw manly stuff, like cowboys or monsters?" But, what's sad about that is that I know people who actually think/talk like that.

The scene where he kills his teacher made me laugh.

I agree. This movie was okay. Not completely horrible. However, a lot of the acting was beyond bad to the point of being laughable. The really funny thing is, that actually HELPED the movie. Overall, I thought the plot was awesome, and the scarecrow monster looked awesome! Some of the acting was just bad and some of the dialogue was too cheesy. Given better actors and a bigger budget, this movie could have been great. But, the redeemable qualities, mixed with the fact that some of the acting was so bad it made you laugh hard, made this an actually worthwhile movie in my view.

That was actually one scene that I REALLY liked, because BOY did I hate that teacher. In that, I feel the movie was successful. It wanted you to hate that teacher, and boy did it succeed. She was the obligatory horror movie character you want to see meet a brutal end, and I felt the gore was really good in this scene, especially when you consider the small budget. One of my favorite scenes. Could have still used better dialogue, though.

Hilarious film. One of my favourite oarts ws when the guy gets his heart ripped out then the camera goes over his dead body and you can clearly see the actor still berathing.

I think the scarecrow doing a ninja flip over the 2 dudes was pretty amazing. A lot of this flick was fun in a 'so bad it's good' kind of way. It seemed obvious that's what they were going for. Worth watching if you like scarecrow horror flicks...

I actually agree. I got this double-feature for 2.99 at a local store cause I had an extra 5 dollars and my pocket and felt like laughing at awful movies, and it delivered.

I almost feel like if this movie had succeeded in ANY way at all, it would have still been a comedy though. You can't have a "horror" character who is basically a living example of impossibility speak so coherently, especially if all you give him is cheesy one liners.

Also, WHO THE *beep* wrote the scene where the girl throws the lighter at the scarecrow? Among all of the plot holes, discontinuities, and writing and acting problems, I don't even get how you make the climax of a film dedicated to the notion that you can throw a Bic and have it stay lit. That's something that most people learn in early middle school, and yet this guy gets paid to write a movie and clearly doesn't know/acknowledge it. This movie would have been harder to watch if it was convincing in any way because this is the climax of it. I'm almost glad I was already laughing at everything when this part came up.

Not sure if all the stuff I am talking about is in the original, cause the original and the sequel just kind of blend together for me in a pool of nonsense. By the way, WHO GREENLIGHTED A GODDAMN SEQUEL FOR THIS MOVIE?

I have to say, I thought this was hysterical stuff. I cracked up a number of times watching it.

What do you think this is, a signature? It's a way of life!

I felt pretty sorry for lester. It wasnt fair the way his teacher was soooo mean to him. I cheered when he killed the bitch. LOL "Hows that for a pop quiz bitch!" By the way isnt part 2 the one where two scarecrows die in a wheat thrasher or some kind of shredder?
