Sex is Zero is almost a Ten

American Pie is a great movie but you have to admit it's a huge escape from reality, while Sex is Zero has some deeply moving plot that is utterly realistic.

Sex is Zero is a title that overall made me think.

Terrific movie with fantastic acting by the two main characters with a beautiful soundtrack. The use of the song "If" by Bread was definitely unexpected.

The only failing it has in the cohesion between chapters and the ending could've been drawn out a little better. The obviously had a great time making this film and there's a lot of chemistry which makes the love story so enjoyable.

Love the scene where he cannot find any hair gel so he uses strawberry jam and has flies following him around all day, or the poster scene in the end is hilarious.

I liked the movie, but it was way grosser than American Pie. The part where they jack off into a frying pan kinda lost me.

The girls were all hot as hell though

How would you rate it comparatively to Van Wilder?

Well in Van Wilder it wasn't dog feces, it was dog 'juice'.

The Frying pan part made me want to puke man...

i died laughing in the scene where this guy runs over eating the sandwitch filled with rat poison, not to mention the boiled yolk (those who saw, know what the yolk is :-p).

I gave it a ten because toward the end, this movie was really meaningful and a tearjerker at that.

totally agree! so rare to find a teenage flick with some reality mixed into the fun nonsense.

however, given the amount of content this movie packed, i doubt they could develop any better cohesion between the chapters without the show running to 3h.

another unexpected gem is how the fickle playboy actually mans up and goes to the hospital to apologise to Eun-hyo and her mom. a very very short scene, but i wonder how many guys would actually dare to face their errors like he did? (granted, with some violent persuasion from Eun-shik...)

it was also heart-rending to watch Eun-hyo do her aerobics routine... i was asking, "didn't she just have an abortion!?" such rigorous movements are definitely a no-no after an abortion - which amounts to at least a minor operation. i had a lump in my throat as i realised why Eun-shik was staring at her with such a stunned expression. and yet, as an athlete she duly completed her performance. so Asian in its unspoken commitment and irrational determination...
