Well they say Korean movies have wild mood shifts....

.....this should be Exhibit A. The abortion is one thing, they did that in Fast Times too, but a botched abortion (and no squeamishness about showing how it's done like in Fast Times) that results in a pool of blood and Ha Ji-won's mom beating the crap out of her....wow. And it really was preceded by 45 minutes of Korean Pie.

haha, yeah. I was watching it with some friends and they were all laughing and then they weren't. They were like "Jesus, this got so serious all of a sudden"

Well when the door hits Euesnik, right after he brought back the guy who knocked up eunhyo in the hospital room.... I didn't know whether to laugh or cry to be honest.

You are so damn right. I really can't recall of a movie with such a wild mood shift.

but how is it a wild mood change? we all saw it coming... pretty junior girl with a crush on a popular playboy senior (who doesn't really look all that hot imo - ZERO abs), gets into a one-night-stand, and then gets pregnant, and then has to consider abortion (tho she seemed to have completely forgotten about her aerobics competition). i thought the story was shown very chronologically - you see the relationship break down over quite a few scenes, and she eventually using a pregnancy kit.

think of it as American Pie with some actual reality. did you think all those horny college kids NEVER once got any girl pregnant? i'd be guessing that trips to the abortion clinic might even be somewhat common. there's a lot of monkeying around in college, definitely a lot of patent nonsense... but you also get serious consequences every once in a while.

I think the movie jumped the shark when she got pregnant
