Phoney Praise

I sat through this movie, and I can immagine it might have been a good book- ala older Elmore Leonard. But the film is tedious, and considering how old the two male leads are, I don't see why they back dated the story to 1990- they both look like Vietnma era vetss now. As amtter of fact wasn't Scott Glenn in the war at that time? It's a said state of affairs when consumer based reviews are stuffed with studio shills and probably some people that either had a small role in the production filling up the ballots. This movie was exceptionally dull. Which is too bad, considering that everyone in it has done such good work- Glenn, Wasson, Keitel- the said thing is thatlooking at poor Jonathan Brandis, you can actually see a glazed, haunted look in his eyes, as if something was already wrong. All in all, a dull film, form what I can imagine was a cool book, it just didn't translate to the big screen.
