The only reason I watch this film

I've seen this movie twice today. And I never get tired of seeing it. I only got it because it was one of Jonathan Brandis' last films. I was curious to see what he looked like since I hadn't seen much of him in anything since Sea Quest. First of all, I am still saddened by his death. Second, I was surprised to see what a lovely young man he turned out to be. He was so scrawny if I may say, in Lady Bugs and Sidekicks, but at 26 I guess (at the time PVS was filmed) he'd grown into a strapping 6 footer and quite a handsome young man. So I watch this and am shocked at how tired he looks in this film! Has anyone else noticed the circles under those beautiful blue eyes? He looked like he wasn't getting much sleep during the shoot and most likely it was probably very lonely for him. I just get that feeling that he showed up on set, did his scenes, and went back to the hotel or wherever they were staying. Some scenes with Harvey Keitel are frightening: The scene where Harvey is telling him a sense of humor will keep him from slashing his wrists and Jonathan looks up with this look on his face. It's indescribable. Almost as if he were planning his demise then and there and Harvey hit the nail on the head. Then when on the way to confront Price, they're talking in the jeep and Jonathan says, "it's pretty hopeless isn't it sir?" It's almost as if he were talking about himself! My favorite scene is when he finally emerges from the smoldering church and walks out. I don't like to say it but he was later cremated. I suppose I like to think that he's at peace now and doesn't remember much about the pain that made him do what he did. I guess some willl think I'm nuts, but I really liked Jonathan. I wish I'd known him and been some sort of friend to him because he seems so alone in this movie. At times it's painful to watch. It's a fine movie with many great performances but I always wait impatiently for Jonathan's scenes. There were too few of them but in the end, his part was no less important. I don't know what happened to him during the time between this film and his death, but whatever it was, it was enough to rob this world of a beautiful young man with a knack for acting, piercing blue eyes, dimples and a crooked smile, and most likely the nicest person you'd ever like to meet. If anyone else feels the same just say so. I know he's gone, but he's not forgotten.

Creepy. I hope Harvey was nice to Jon. I don't think I could bear it if he was mean to him or anything. By the way, watch the film! No one else is posting anything and I don't think anyone cares anymore! I do!!! He's not bad in the movie. Great in fact. I read something on the web that Harvey thought Jon was good when they were editing the film. Thanks

the 'slashing wrists' scene was very eerie and so was Brandis's expression afterwards

i noticed a lot of darkness in his face and eyes, and i dont think it was acting, he looked genuinely unhappy

I thought that it was an 'okay' movie being a true Scott Glenn fan but I have to agree with some of the previous posts, Jonathan he didn't look like he was into the role as he should have been. Judging by his eyes, he looked as if he was there but 'not' there. Brandis was doing his job but he definitely did not look like his mind and heart was into it at the time.

Such a loss.

Maybe he just wasn't feeling well or was just genuinely tired.

It's unfair of me but I did have another reason to watch this flick today. I had the additional reason to laugh my way through it, as covered in

And on that subject, why on earth was Craig Wasson not even shown on the cover, along with Scott Glenn and Giovanna Zacarias, let alone bit player Harvey Keitel? So I think all of this explains Jon Bradis
