birthrites, powers, series???

I watched this a few days ago and have a few questions. I know the oldest had a pitchfork (triton) and was strong. Middle child had a tiara and was a siren. Did the tiara do anything besides look pretty? Youngest child had a mirror that showed her things? What was her power?

Lastly-- will this be a series??? I would like it especially since Charmed is probably in its last season. Plus i hated the fact that the youngest did not keep her soul mate and would like to see a happy ending for her.

I too just watched this a few days ago. I really liked it, and I would love to see it made into a show. And I agree - it was rotten that June did not get Randy in the end.
June (the youngest) had the mirror, which showed her places or people - but she could not really controll it. It kind of showed her what it felt she needed to see.
As far as I could gather from the movie Venus' tiara did not have any special powers - was that not why she hated it and wanted Diana or June's gifts?

Charmed is my favourite show, and though there are some clear simalarities between Mermaids and Charmed, there are still some things that set them apart. I heard a rumour that a producer from Charmed wanted to do a show about mermaids, but he did not think he would be able to do it - I really hope that Mermaids gets made into a show - hopefully with the same actors.

Thanks for the birthrites. But what about the powers. The eldest was strong. Middle child could influence men's thoughts-- otherwise a siren. What was the youngest power?

I really really hope this becomes a series.

I think she might have gotten him in the end. He already practicaly told her he loved her. Like her sister Diana said, "This isn't over yet."

Oldest sister Diana had a tridant/hair clip and the power of strength
Middle sister Venus had a pearl tiara and the power of a siren
Youngest sister June had a mirror and the power to see visions in it

I also think they had some power to do with sea animals im not sure. One thing I didn't get was if Venus had given Randy the siren treatment so he didn't remember the time him and June had spent together, how did he know at the end that they were mermaids?

At the end when Randy took the police people to where the mermaids father was, they explained to him why he looked human.

he knew that they were mermaids at the end because the youngest, June, told him when she had gotten wet and they were sitting in the laundry room or wherever they were when theu were talking about they're relatopnship. that's why june had told her sister that something had changed.

i also loved this movie and think that they should make a series.
