sequel?

Does anyone know if there is a sequel or if they are going to make a series out of it? This would make an interesting series.

It's in discusion. i was in Mermaids, and it was shot as a pilot, so we hope it will be picked up. At first the networks were not intersted (to much like charmed we were told). But if there is enough public interes who knows?

awesome! I would watch it..I hope it gets picked up! =)

It was nothing like charmed!!!! I love mermaids - would love to be one in my next life - it only aired one time and I was unable to tape it - cannot find it on VHS or DVD - is it going to air again?? Thanks

It is on dvd although there are few places that sell it. I bought mine for £4.50 from blockbuster ex-rentals. The only other place i could find it, the price was about £30. And I agree, it would be amazing to be a mermaid in my next life!!

I just saw it recently on TV... and I found it to be very interesting... they were saying it was like 'Charmed' because it's about 3 sisters who come together, and the magical connection... other then that it is very original... I like the others think it would make a very interesting show... though after this amount of time I doubt it will happen... though one can hope... that and the whole theme this year on TV is all about the supernatural... so fingers crossed!

I just watched it for the first time Sunday night, Sept 18, 2005 (it was on PAX TV). The name caught my eye and I watched it while watching the emmys too. I thought that it was awesome. Have then been anymore talks about going further with it? I know that I would watch it. I don't think that its really a lot like charmed. Sure it's about 3 sisters with magic powers, put one is about witches and this is about mermaids. They are not the same. Infact, witches often time get bad context because throughout ages some have always felt that witches dealt with the devil, where as mermaids don't often have that darkside associated with witches (though I have seen some, mostly associating mermaids with the siren legends, who lure people to there doom). I think that it would make a great series. I noticed a trend that a lot of the new shows airring pilots this upcoming season invovled water, and things coming out of them. This seem like it would be a great series, one you could watch with the family. Maybe a network (other then PAX, Unless they are picking it up) should air it again and see the hype it gets. Let me know when its on and i'll recomend it to all I know, even starting an e-mail chain letter till everyone knows to tune in and watch.

I saw it last night for the second time and its very good. I loved the storyline and the sisters were great.

reply

Yeah, I agree. But don't you think it was really anoying how June lost Randy, after she had finally gotten him?

Does anyone know if this will become a series or not? Or if there is a website dedicated into getting this movie to become a series?

Thanks

No website ... would be good if the producers new there was an Audience out there.
It was made by Viacom, through Paramount ... don't know if producers watch IMBD.

Oh, Tony, you played Daryl? Cool! I thought this movie was fun, and I feel you guys' pain, wanting another to be made. I myself was surprised, what with the ending (June not getting Randy), I thought there should have been a sequel. I really, really want a sequel to be made for The 10th Kingdom, a Fantasy miniseries from 2000, which was wonderful, one of my favorite movies, and the end pointed to a sequel, but it was not successful, so a sequel was never made. What the fans of The 10th Kingdom did was start lots of online petitions for a sequel, one has over 5,000 signatures, I believe. The producers probably aren't paying attention to it, but it can't hurt for someone to start one for Mermaids. Also, it would be good to send lots of letters into Paramount or Viacom, saying you love the movie and really want a sequel to be made, and that there is a large fan base out there.
P.S. If you like Mermaids, you will love The 10th Kingdom! You should really check it out, it's amazing!

I loved this movie!!!!!!!!!
And just because it is like charmed ( not very ) doesent mean it is not going to make ratings. i mean charmed went on for what 8 years if anything that means that their are people out there who would like to see this made into a tv series. I would be happy with a mini series even! I loved eveything about it, exept the end that is. Seriusly, if you dont know if people are going to watch it dont make a ending liker that, and if people want more you give them more. it is possible top make an satisafing ending witout leaving people with a bad feeling when they reach the end!
what about showing the movie on a big tv channel and afterwords, have a suvey about how nany people liket it and want to see more!
