She returned to NY, her fiance proposed and she accepted. Then her photos taken at the ranch were accepted for an exhibition. She broke up with her fiance because she doesn't feel marriage is something you can force someone into. Andrew McCarthy found out that she broke up with her fiance and he came to NY, bringing his horse, on the opening night of her new photo exhibition (featuring him). The exhibition is hailed a success by critics. They meet and kiss. The end.

Well, it's a little more than that. There is a scene where Tyler and Jordan are in the barn with the colt they found. Tyler tells Jordan a story about the Indians that used to be in the area. He said that when a man was interested in marrying a women he would take a horse (Bridal Prize) to her. If she accepted it they were considered engaged. When Jordan sent the pictures of Tyler's sisters wedding (and an invitation to the gallery showing of her pictures) the sister called to thank her. She asked Jordan about her fiance and Jordan told her that they were no longer together. Tyler's sister ran out to tell Tyler and he acted like he didn't care. The sister told him to quit being stuborn and get over his wife's death and admit he loved Jordan. (Not exactly those word's but similar) The next scene was of Jordan and her friend at the gallery opening and Jordan remarking about how she's not as happy about the show as she was when she took the pictures. The gallery owner made a speech about the exhibit (the takes keep cutting from the gallery to a man walking through the streets leading a horse). After his speech you hear the horse making noises in the background the crowd parts, Tyler is leading the colt in to Jordan. He ask's her if this would make a good Bridal Prize and hands her the rope. She takes it and they start kissing. I like my version better. It's longer, but the romance is not lost in the translation.

Pretty good summary, but the horse is the Bride Price, like a dowery.

I'm watching the movie again, but was interrupted - what is the story about the horses. Why was the older man (former father-in-law?) trying to take them, and McCartney was getting them back?

If memory serves, the FIL was head of some sort of "land management" organization. They gather wild horses and take them to an auction to help keep the population down. Jamison was gathering horses on Tyler's land for spite because he blamed him for his daughter's death. Tyler enjoys having wild horses roam free so he was keeping the horses pinned on his land in hopes of keeping them from going to auction.

The agency is the BLM (Bureau of Land Management).
