"Coffee with milk" is like saying a Formula 1 is a "car with a motor".

Usually, the milk is steamed or heated (as is customary). And if Joe has the attachment to his coffee machine, it's frothed and dolloped into the coffee. Some people may say this is a cortado, but gringos don't understand why it's called as such, so they get the short version.

When I would get a coffee in this country, I'd order it with milk. I'd often have to tell them to not heat/boil/steam the milk. So, there you go. After a while, they figured out that I wanted a cafe gringo.

It's really Cuban coffee, which is like espresso, with steamed milk.

At least there will be plenty implied.

But if he's in the States, he can't IMPORT CUBAN COFFEE. And since he is... it's probably just some arabica blend. Probably Colombian.

reply

it's cafe bustelo.

reply

I've never heard of that. But, now that I've googled it, I see. Way better than the Noescafe that is sooooo popular in this country.

Great film, wasn't it?
