Question about Olivia's reaction

At one point towards the end of the movie, Fin goes up to Olivia's porch, where she's just ended a very heated phone conversation, and then she goes berserk, shouting at him very angrily, asking him to leave, saying he's not his mother and then he leaves rather in shame as if he'd done something wrong.

What was that about? Did I miss something?

Olivia was messed up and angry for reasons that became clear later on. Fin, who clearly doesn't like to put himself out there, just looked hurt because he was being rejected, or at least his friendship was.
At least that's how I saw it.
