Sam Fisher vs Solid Snake

Make your bets! :D

reply

Sam Fisher. Solid Snake is WAY too old, even for Sam Fisher's age. Snake's genes are failing and he probably has some sort of cancer. He is most likely suffering from joint pain and other problems. Too many things to count. On the other hand, Sam, though growing older, is still at the top of his game. I don't know if we are counting the upcoming SC: Conviction or not so I won't say anything about that until the game comes out.

Snake:
His life bar is bigger and he got autoaim and more guns and gadgets. XD

Sam Fisher. Snake is overrated. This 'Greatest Soldier that Ever Lived' crap is getting to me. Even though that was Big Boss, he and Snake are basically the same because Snake is just a clone. The closest thing to the greatest soldier that ever lived was probably either Robert E. Lee or Audie Murphy in my opinion. Sam has new fresh plots in each game. The MGS series is the same in every single game. They just change the setting and characters. Any way, in all realism, Metal Gear was made a joke when Reagen made his Star Wars program. Sam wins. No contest.

P.S. Don't get me started on how many weapons Snake can carry. That's a joke in itself.

Sam Fisher for the win.

I see this topic everywhere I go lol.
Well, I believe Snake would win, and heres why:
If you can take on countless 3 story tall nuclear armored tanks with lasers, high powered machine guns and rockets, fight an endless amount of soldiers while running up stairs, take on a hind D on top of a radio tower, a tank, and all that other crap

then you can, without a doubt, beat the *beep* out of some punk NSA agent

reply

however, sam can hide in shadows and make dark where he needs it, and make noises in multiple places at the same time, which could easily disorient snake, making for an easy headshot for sam

and he isn't, as you say, a punk NSA agent, because he has been in desert storm, a second korean conflict, and a former navy seal, so there isn't really much that could surprise sam, other than snake's adaptive camoflauge, but sam could just flick on his thermals, and voila! snake sticks out like a sore thumb!

reply

hmmm, i was thinking more of a hand to hand fight. snake and sam in a ring, fighting to the death. it would be a hell of a fight. but if it was in the field, i guess it would be whoever has more patience.
wait, why do snake and sam have to be enemies, why can't they team up and be friends?!
anyone think of that?

reply

I did, and I'm writing something about that with a friend. Either way, in hand to hand combat well... Sam knows Krav Maga, and he could go for the run with parkour. But Krav would be last resort, since well Sam is a sniper, he would probably go for a head shot and that's it... Anyways there's a difference between the two (A HUGE ONE), while Sam tends to be more annalitical and uses methods and technics in his approach, Snake tends to be more explosive. Putting those two to work together, let me tell you, is hard, lol... but not impossible.

reply

I'll stick with Fisher. Not only he's a master in stealth (not only in shadows his knowledge is extending) but he knows parkour and Krav Maga, plus has advance weapons training. Besides Sam goes to take out an objective, or retrieve and objective, meaning he's more focused than Snake. And of course the moves. Plus his mental status. He can keep focused even if he had lost everything.

reply

hmmm, who knows
it would make a hell of a fight though
im a fan of both series, more into metal gear solid though
and i do agree, fisher does have some pretty damn cool moves and skills
and snake has a life time of experience, fighting is in his blood (literally) and taking on metal gears all by yourself...damn
if they did get into a fight to the death, who knows who will win
maybe, they will kill eachother,
but one thing is for sure, it would be a hell of a fight

reply

I agree. Unless Sam does sniper... that wouldn't last... a shame.

Sam has taken out numerous guerrilla, Snake wouldn't be an exception. Besides, just check the character's experience: CIA, Navy SEAL (team 6 and 3), has been in numerous conflicts, and finally NSA. Knows Krav Maga and parkour (which makes for a fast agile and killer approach and even escape if necessary), advance weapon training, HAHO and HALO jump... etc. Sam is also more analytical an strategical approach. Instead of using a rocket launcher he prefers the 20K, and things like that. The guy trains himself in dark and all which means the goggles are and extra point. His instincts are very highlighted (if you've seen some Conviction vids) which could be even close to paranoia, but one he can control.

In their personalities, Snake tends to be more lose than Sam, and Sam tends to keep a lot of things to himself, which makes him a bit more dark. That and the fact of the lost in his life hasn't broke him... yet, which means his psyche is very strong.

Anyways I think Snake is AWESOME, but Sam is just COMPLETE. Which means if they go head to heads (I prefer seeing them together) Sam has the experience for a more personal combat rather than blowing up stuff. It also depends on the objective.

Snake would win in every discipline.

Stealth? Sam needs Shadows, Snake does not.
Hand-to-Hand? Sam's CQC is a joke to Snakes.
Snakes fought more soldiers, robots and endbosses than Sam ever could.

But in the end Snake is in every way more fiction than Sam. Sam is really more believable than Snake.

Both are good,
Snake in a more rugged way and Sam in a more settled way,
but I know someone who can kick both of their asses, at the same time....
