Jim Caviezel as some guy (just for the heck of it)
and some uknown teenage actress as Rei's assistant.

or Mary Elizabeth Winstead could be the main character. And if they do make it, they have to make the ghosts look scary, not cheesy. And the atmosphere has to be dark and foggy and it has to give you a sense of fear and it has to keep you on the edge of your seat like "The Descent" did. Boy, that movie was scary!

I wonder if they'll do what they did with the American remake of, what was it? Ju-On, I think? Anyway, they called it the the Grudge, and they set it in Japan, but they used Caucasion actors. I think that would be a mistake and a real shame in this case.
shareRei is not going to be in the movie. Why would they base it on the third game? For one thing, the plot of FF3 requires you to have played 1 and 2 to fully understand. Also, the best plot for a movie would the first game. And they have already said in some old interview that the movies plot would be "a young girl searches for her brother in a mansion filled with deadly ghosts" sure sounds like the first game to me
