Great line-help me remember?

Hi

Saw Being Julia last night. I cracked up when Julia was in the dressing room confessing to her husband that she was a slut etc etc.

He says, "Yes, but nonetheless, you were brilliant etc etc.."

Does anyone remember the particulars of this conversation, which I believe was just after her brilliant ad-libbed performance.

*** SPOILER **** SPOILER****** (at least in my opinion...)

I think the conversation of her being a slut etc was a different one from the one after her last performance. In the one where she says she's a slut, he says something about her being brilliant but needing time off. In the one at the end, he storms in and calls her a monster - a brilliant monster.. something to that extent.

*** SPOILER **** SPOILER****

Metatron: You people! If there isn't a movie about it, it's not worth knowing about, is it?

reply

Mrs. Dexter: I think I used to know your father in Jersey, he was a doctor, wasn't he? He used to come to our house quite often.

Julia: Actually, he was a vet, he used to go to your house to deliver the bitches. Your house was full of them.

She had just ended her affair with Tom and was down in the dumps. It showed in her performances. Her husband called her on it and she got angry. After he explained he wanted her to go away and rest then start rehearsals for their new play Nowadays she calmed down. She said "I'm a slut. A bitch. An awful bitch through and through."

He then replies "Nevertheless." Cracks me up everytime. LOL

I'm sorry to be such a stickler, but this too was one of my favorite scenes because of these lines.

When she bursts into tear after realizing that she is overacting because the "outside world" has "cheapened [her acting] gifts", SHE says "I'm just a slut, a rotten bitch."

reply

"Nevertheless, you're a great actress" is the rest of the line

Great quotes but, I think 331 is talking about the 'ending'.

The 'monster' quote is right. She admits to be naughty and he prefers her that way.
