Between Julia and Charles.

Are they friends or secret lovers? If it's the latter, so Julia has more than one secret lover, doesn't she?

They're friends. In the end Charles admits that he's gay.

When he goes to the island of Jersey to visit her, she wants to start a fling - he says he "plays for the other team". She says in surprise, "OH!" and is friendly and warm in response.
