Real shows accept real people

Which is why you can't get on this show, the show hand picks actors and friends of actors and/or other people in the entertainment industry, people who are comfortable in front of large audiences/cameras.

And they pick them so they can perform in front of the cameras.

Most people have already figured this out from the phony reactions by the people on this show, those who couldn't see the obvious will predictably ignore this information.

They cling to the notion that this show is real based on absolutely nothing.

The show itself doesn't even claim the show is real, look at the precisely odd way they phrase their disclaimers.

For legal reasons they phrase it in that way to remain technically neutral and maintain deniability.

I've seen at least three shows where the victim assaulted one of the performers. And I mean tackling him or punching him in the face. That's not "fake".

Of course it's fake.

People are tackled and punched in movies and tv dramas as well, it's orchestrated violence.

The only difference is that you assume this show is real and thus accept it as real, when it's not.

As I said, real people can't get on this show, they don't accept the general public. Look at their sign-up policy, they don't have one.

I can easiley discern that they're acting.

But that's a moot point, you have no proof the show is real, all the circumstances of the show indicate it's fake.

They hire young people as the 'victims' because that's this show's target audience, young people.

If they were concerned about getting genuine reactions from real people they would SOLICIT real people, as in you and me. Not people with connections to the entertainment industry. If you can't notice the bad acting you can atleast do the math.

Real shows have real sign-up methods. That's not a generalization, that's fact, all actual reality shows have an open application process.

The problem is that there's nothing 'real' about this show.

And your "hunch" just means you're a cynic. And your cynicism is clouding your judgment.

No, I'm a cynic because I've objectively weighed the circumstances of this show, then came to the conclusion.

You, on the otherhand, believe that this show is real based on nothing. The show doesn't legally claim to be real, that's just inferred, hence the producers can't get in trouble for claiming the show is what it's not.

This is a lie actually, my friend was on this show and it's completely real.

my friend was on this show and it's completely real.

My friend was also on the show, and he said it was fake.

Words are words.

Well, in 2003 the creators and two of the actors were sued because of the injuries and psychological traumas from on of the victims. It was from season 1 when the black girl got attacked by an alien when their car broke down in the middle of the desert.

I think it's real, I think they just pick people from where they air the show. What is fake is the places they put at the bottom of the screen at the beginning of the episodes. I know that part is fake b/c they had an episode supposedly take place in Alabama. I can't remember the name of the town, but I looked it up and there is no such town.

I don't believe this is fake at all.... Or these people would receive oscars for their reactions!!! I just saw this episode recently and they "picked up a hitchhiker" and then they looked in his bag and there was a head. When the hitchhiker returned he pretends to stab the driver, in which the guy in the back who was being peaked began to punch the actor repeativly, each punch I could see was in direct contact with his head.... And the actor who was bein stabbed tried to stop the guy trying to "save his life".... I don't think the actor would come out of character to stop him from fake punching the other actor..... As ate a lot of episodes like this.... I watch the show all the time... But hey... That's just what I think....

it's more fun if you believe it is real, and a lot of people (especially Americans) are very gullible

Yes, they pick people who have auditioned for TV shows, or at least they used to for the earlier seasons. That's why the people are willing to participate in the setup scenario of an odd job (they're actors, so they need cash and often don't have regular 9-5s), tend to have outrageous reactions (again, they're actors), go along with it even if they know or suspect it's fake (they want to get exposure for their careers), and often have IMDB credits or later show up as actors on the show. But it's real in the sense that they don't necessarily know it's a show when they're being filmed.

I agree 100% with the OP. The often vitriolic nature with which this show's honor is defended whenever and wherever the need arises across the internet has always struck me as curiously diligent. Almost as if a vested interest is being protected. Hmmm.

I've never had any doubt that the vast majority of Scare Tactics' run was filmed entirely with the use of actors, 'victims' included. I specifically recall a scenario where a stereotypical 'mad scientist' was attempting to teleport someone from one chamber to another, ala 'The Fly'. The 'Mark' was either actor Travis Wester (Supernatural, Ghostfacers) or his identical twin. When the experiment inevitably goes awry he utters the absolutely laughable line "why would you attempt this when you haven't perfected the method?", or words to that effect. Yep, clearly a legit reaction from someone who just witnessed someone get cooked alive.

Scare Tactics is a legitimate 'prank' show only to the extent that its viewers are the ones being deceived.

Yeah,. this is NOT Fameless. Nor is this a GAME SHOW! Why the HELL did they show this on GSN last month? This is not a game show! Why did THIS get a Halloween marathon instead of Hellevator?!

This show belongs on TRU TV, like right after Fameless. Not on GSN.
