Is this based on a novel?

The novel Threshold by Kaitlin R. Kiernan, winner of the Bram Stoker Award for best horror novel of 2001.

If anyone has an answer or a guess, post it.

I don't know, if I were facing the end of the world by moth I would curse a bit too.

I was actually thinking that it was based on the book Threshold by Judith Singer. That book was published in 1975, so maybe Kiernan's version is based on that as well.
