Does anyone think that it is possible that Michael could read minds also. That would explain how he figured out what was wrong with her and how he knew how to block her. He would have extensive knowledge of how to control the gift also and that was why he was able to teach her so effectively. It would also fit in with the idea that his reasons for helping her were possibly evil.
