shareIf you had actually read anything about Civil War detention camps, you'd know the treatment varied considerably, and that a lot of personal property survived quite well. They weren't exactly strip & cavity-searching everyone that came in. And in properly-run camps the property was returned to the prisoner when he was exchanged or released.
