Saw it...

It really sucked. The acting was terrible, and the dialogue couldn't have been any worse. Even though this is based on the directors life, most of it was not believeable. A truly painful experience, don't waste your money.

I saw a free preview last night. I give it a C-/D+. Although the two leads were cute, the plot wandered, people show up and then disappear again, the timeline is incomprehensible, etc etc.

Some of the dialog was indecipherable as well. Many times I was left to wonder "what was that she just said?".

A nice effort but it won't be in the theaters for long. Better see it soon if that's your thing....

it wasn't based on the director's life...he eats Ice Cream...

hahahaha...thats hilarious. What the h@#$ does the director being Mexican have to do with anything?

First, the writer/director, Reverge Anselmo, is not Mexican. His father, Rene Anselmo, is of Italian descent but was born in Argentina and raised in Boston. Reverge's mother is a WASP. Second, the story IS based on Reverge's life. Reverge was a child of privilege. (His father, among other things, was one of the founders of Second City and was one of the principals of PanAmSat. When Reverge's father died in 1995 or so, he was worth several billion dollars.) Reverge had to join the marines to avoid prison and had a relationship with an emotionally disturbed actress. Obviously, Reverge took some dramatic license in writing his own story, but it absolutely is autobiographical.

Its a good thing that his father left him several billion dollars because out of the 16 millon dollar budget it only made back $175,000. I don't think DVD sales will make up for the rest.

especially since after reading this page, there's no way im wasting time downloading it, let alone buying it.

Agreed. Awful film. Clunky dialogue, nonsensical go nowhere story, unusual cameos, weak acting, bland broadly sketched characters. Terrible movie.

Yes, God forbid that the director be Mexican. So let's please make it clear that, although born in Mexico, that he is NOT NOT NOT MEXICAN! What a horrible, horrible thing to be. Why is that?

Ssshhhh. I don't want to give out any secrets but there are a lot of Mexicans out there that can't say they are Mexican because of the extreme prejudice by Hollywood. To name a couple, Bridgot Bardot(surprise, she is half Mexican), Ted Williams(half Mexican) Linda Carter(Wonder Woman is half Mexican). There are many others. Ssshhh, don't tell anyone.
