Personally it made me too angry to cry but I can see where people better than me would weep for the suffering inflicted.

One guy was traumatized by this movie.

big time. it really gets to me... not just the events that took place within film, but the fact that this *beep* went on for so long "unnoticed"...and still goes on today.

I saw this in the cinema with my mother when I was a young teenager and I'll never forget how, after the credits began to roll, no one moved. Everybody in the theatre just sat there for about five minutes. It wasn't by any means the most violent or disturbing film I'd ever seen, and I'm sure the same goes for plenty of others in the audience too. But the relevancy and the fact that we - as a sample of the Irish demographic - were sitting together sharing the experience of watching a film which openly acknowledges the horror of 'our' recent past... well, it was a very powerful experience.
