Kick Ass

I just saw this movie tonight and I thought it kicked LARGE portions of ass. The special effects and martial arts were really cool. And even better still were the scenes where they interwove martial arts and SFX. The TRANSFORMER planes were EXTREMELY kick ass.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you: a translation! I think what King Vegeta is trying to say here (I'll be nice and spare any Dragon Ball Z jokes) is that Returner does in fact kick ass. Or as Kenneth Branagh would say, Returner kicks arse. Whatever. Anyway, Vegeta has pinpointed what is pretty obvious, and that's why I'm stating it again. RETURNER KICKS ASS! Not large portions though, as he stated, but the whole ass! All in one piece! To quothe Emeril Lagasse..."BAM!" One big steaming kicked ass, all over the place! Now go out there and make sure all your friends see this movie (After you've made sure they've seen Kill Bill first, otherwise, you've got some serious work ahead of you.)

this was defintly a fun movie which was full of cool stuff, recommended if you just want to watch a full on fun-fest of an action movie.

Yeah I just bought it on DVD sight unseen and I must admit, it is seriously a badass movie. I mean when I was watching it, I was thinking "Okay, this is pretty cool" the entire time, but the more I think about it, the more I realise just how cool it really was. I'm formulating possible explanations and piecing together all of the elements in my mind so I can rewatch it tomorrow and get some stuff I may have missed the first time. This was a seriously enjoyable film!

When I watched Returner, and I too noticed that it was really BADASS! I also like when they play with your mind which I thought was pretty clever, but... The part where the Americans acted was pretty corny (no offense to anybody), you have to cut the director some slack though because, I dont think he knows how to direct forein actors. But both ways It still kicked ASS!

Actually, I believe (from some accents I picked up) that at least some of the English speaking characters were actually Australian. This isn't too surprising, as Australia has often collaborated with the Eastern movie companies (i.e. several Jackie Chan movies made there, et al). It makes sense, seeing how close they are to each other.
But yes, I did think the English speaking acting was, well, laughable. Especially since I had to coerce my friends into watching the subtitled version (Philistines!), and then the first thing we hear is badly spoken English dialog.

sry but...

im almost done with this movie and tho i havent seen the whole thing, im so far very unimpressed

i know i know, not all movies have to be really impressive, but i find this movie boring, ive been waiting to see this for a while cuz i wanted to see some good action and the action is returner is very good in some parts but theres way too much space between the action and this movie is just a total b-movie

i just wanted to warn the ppl who r thinking of checking this movie out cuz unless they have patience for such a b-movie then they should avoid this one, its about the same level as "the one"

thats just my opinion tho

see that's the beauty of it. i saw this movie as more of a drama filled with great action scenes and a wonderful storyline. if you go in expecting a serious action movie, you will be disappointed. but if you go in expecting a drama/mild action it's awesome. everyone i told this to, loved it, and those who i didn't tell, weren't as impressed. i saw it thinking it was gonna be kinda slow, but that first scene blew me away and i was not disappointed.

The problem is that I didn't like the drama in this movie.

Maybe I just wasn't in a mood for the drama.... Or.. Maybe the drama simply wasn't that great.

You need to care about the characters in order to appreciate the drama. And simply put, I wasn't.

Plot holes didn't help either (I find it more acceptable in a comedy type of movie, but less so in a drama type).
