Just saw the movie... (spoilers)

I was on a mission to watch a Takeshi Kaneshiro movie, and I found this at my local Hollywood video. I wasn't expecting much, because I was expecting something terrible. And it wasn't a great film, but it was entertaining. I love the brother-sister relationship of the two leads. By the end, I was completely rooting for their survival and prevention of the war. (Plus, I thought the aliens were cute).

But...

Cause the movie was already cheesy, I wanted something like Milly coming back as an older girl and ending up with Takeshi. I like that little bit of stupid romance. Maybe in the sequel right (=D). I know it's silly to think about after saying I liked their brother-sister relationship, but you know...any little girl would have a crush on Miyamoto (or any character played by Takeshi).

So that'd be my ending. Miyamoto turns around to find some hot woman at his door. You know, after he realizes she saved him and all. And then...cut to credits. Seriously, the movie was already a big ball of corniness, they should have just added this just cause I wanted it.

Uh-Uh, guilty as well. I just saw this movie exactly for the same reason, I was looking for a Takeshi Kaneshiro movie to confirm if the guy really is a hunk, or just my impression from House of Flying Daggers. Well, I liked their relationship very much (and yes, confirmed all my opinions about him) but don't know if some posterior romance would have added just a bit too much cheese for my taste. I mean, I was already cracking up with all the ET-Terminator-Independence Day-GodzillavsPredator borrowing that "Somewhere in time" would have been just too much. Anyway, Japanese films are not shy on the corniness side, so you should have gotten your ending!

Same here! Takeshi... *Drool*

But I wasn´t hoping for anything romantic...
But I reeeeally wanted Milly to show up in Miyamotos flat. :)
They got pretty close, and it was so sad how she just dissapeared!

Yep! I also watched this movie only to see Takeshi in another film. I think he may be the most beautiful Asian man ever, if not of all races.
I also wanted the romance too! i didn't know why they kept calling her a kid, she looked older than a kid to me. but the actress who played Milly was 15 when the movie came out, and Takeshi was like 29, so they really couldn't legally hook up. in the US, anyway. i don't know what the legal limit is in Japan, but i do know they love young girls. but that's beside the point, hehe.

So the last reply to this thread was over 3 years ago, but I just have to say that I'm in COMPLETE AGREEMENT with everything everyones said. I only watched this to see Takeshi =) he is SO hot. And I couldve pretty much forgive any degree of cheesiness if only theyd ended up together somehow.
