Has he, or has he not?

hi there,

i'm surprised noone mentioned this before, has he slept with the guy, or was he freaking out his ex-wife only?

why didn't she run away when he came with the knife (and camera) towards her?

Hi,

I'm pretty sure he did sleep with the guy. IMO Ramón killed his mother because she knew it (and did indeed not lie to Laura) and could easily destroy his career as a professor, as she had a part in destroying his marriage.

Laura didn't run away because at that moment she just didn't take Ramón serious anymore, especially after the scene with the knife and the countdown. Ramón stated earlier that he would kill her when she's expecting it least, I guess this was such a moment.

hi venomenon-1,

1. there is the possibility that Ramón's mum lied.

a) let's assume she told the truth. why would Ramón kill her? so she knows that Ramón had sex with one of his students.

b) if she lied, Ramón would use the gay-story to 'play the game', by first denying everything, later 'admiting'.

2. maybe Ramón's mum didn't know anything about it. Laura 'plays the game', she lies about her reasons why she divorsed Ramón, she lies about his mum, makes up the story, and pretends to be sorry that their marriage is over.

later, Ramón 'plays the game' and says, that he DID sleep with one his students.

3. i always assumed Ramón killed his mum, because she destroyed his marriage with Laura.

There were two perspectives with different coloured floors. In the interview he recollected the trial when she apparently lied and when captured she let him have sex with here etc. Scenes with the blue floor are all imaginary too so most of the second half is in his head. He screwed the student that went and spoke to him privately at the start of the film when the cops turned up in class. And this is classic psycho closet homosexual hate your mother psychology.

I'm inclined to think he did sleep with the guy, and his mother was telling the truth when she told Laura about it.

But it is possible to read it as he didn't sleep with the guy and his mother was actually trying to break their marriage so he would go back to her, like he told Laura. We've seen how sadistic he is (e.g. the eye-popping idea and sounds he made) so I wouldn't put it past him that he admitted it to hurt Laura.

I've just seen the movie and it seems to me that he did sleep with the student. We can see that when the cops come in the classroom to take him to the station, just when the class finishes, a student comes to speak to him, whispering, and it doesn't seem to be about the lecture. Then the cops interrupt and the student leaves, stopping talking straight away.
It seems pretty clear that he killed his mother, and the only reason seems to be that she told his ex-wife that he was sleeping with his students, hence ruining his marriage. But a few questions come to my mind: why making all this up ( the serial killer story ) just to kill his wife who had lied about the reasons of divorce? Why not just abduct her and torture/kill her if this is was he was planning? And when he gets to know all this came from his mother at the 1st place, why does he still kill his wife? I know she made him look like a monster at the trial, but he seemed pretty in love with her. And she seemed quite convinced that he hadn't slept with the boy when he denied it. He could have just killed his mother and get back with his wife, or at least let her live. His mum was sick anyway and nobody would have suspected anything, as they haven't when he actually killed her. Give me your opinions please.
