Dick Enberg
Most baseball followers are aware that the Brewers' announcer is Bob Uecker.
So why Dick Enberg, a man who almost exclusively does football in real life?

Dick Enberg was the voice of UCLA football and basketball after teaching and coaching at then San Fernando State College (now Cal State University Northridge) and was the number one announcer for the Los Angeles Rams and California Angels before getting the network gig.
FYI, Enberg narrates the 2002 Angels World Series video/DVD and still has a soft spot in his heart for the Angels and is still popular among the old time Angel fans. Some of his co-announcers were Don Drysdale, Dave Neihaus, Don Wells, and Al Wisk.
I don't know why the filmakers went with Dick Enberg rather then Bob Uecker, but maybe he was too busy doing real life games to do this film at the same time.
sharedick enberg is a man among minions.
You stay classy, San Diego.
OH MY!!! BTW NutsberryFarm look up 2002 Indiana vs Duke game, the game were IU upset Duke but Duke nearly tied it with Jason Williams getting fouled on a 3-pt make with like 4 seconds left while Duke was down 4. Enberg did that game.

I'd bet it had to do with the fact that Bob Uecker was the very memorable voice of the Cleveland Indians in "Major League." The filmmakers probably would have loved to work with a talent like Uecker, but some viewers would no doubt accuse them of riding the coattails of an earlier baseball movie.
Or maybe Uecker just didn't want to.
he should have gotten an oscar nom for his work in this movie.
