Thank God

I was able to see this film (the UK one) last night, and all I can say is THANK GOD. I saw Doogal the other week or so on TiVo and it lived up to the hype. The hype of sucking I should say. I thought it was such a shame, because it looked like such a cute movie, but it was ruined by such a crap script. I came here to IMDb and found out that Doogal was a redub, and went on a quest to find The Magic Roundabout. So, thank God I found it, and saw it, and discovered what's really a very cute, good movie. I think the American redub is a cinematic crime and I hate that it was made. -_-

I only wish the TV show would come to DVD. Even only on Region 2 would be fine, I have a multiregion player (yeah I'm American). Or even a French release with the English dub available. I know that the episodes were only like 5 minutes long, but The Trap Door made it to DVD, so can TMR. I caught a couple eps on YouTube and its SO cute. There's just so little info on the individual eps online. If I could get ahold of more of the show I'd love to make a fansite for it, and the movie. And I hear there was a TMR movie a while back with a blue cat as the villain, I'd like to see that too.

In any case, know what my favorite bit was? When after Zeebad was re-imprisoned in the roundabout, and so now everyone knows he's in there, the kids are all "Yay a roundabout with an evil entity trapped inside! Let's go plaaaaaaaaay on it! :DDDD"

I kept waiting for someone to yell at Zebadee for never telling them there was an evil dude inside the carousel they were letting their kids play on everyday, seriously. :) Zeebad was created for this film, right? I mean, he was never mentioned in the series or anything beforehand was he? I'd assume not.

No. No you don't.

The French version of the original shows is totally different script wise from the English.

The animations were sent to England and Eric Thompson just made up a new script to fit the pictures. He was a comedic genius. They are very funny, sometimes topical and totally bonkers. THis film had little of that zany humour which us Brits fell in love with as children.

There are some on Youtube.

One thing I cannot stand is intolerance.
