Feel empathy for the leprechaun

He shouldn't have killed all those people, but I have to think that if he got his gold back, he would leave everyone alone. But maybe not, because in the first one, he got his coin back, but still killed the shopkeeper out of revenge. Another thing, I didn't know ripping out a ridge of teeth killed someone. Nor did I know taking off someone's leg killed them. Is that just in the movie, or would that happen in real life?
