Bring your night vision

Don't look for much exposition in this film, because it isn't there. We're not really sure who these characters are, or why they behave the way they do, and it takes more than a whopping 130 minutes in an attempt to tell us. It's also littered with highly intrusive background music.

My biggest beef is that it's literally impossible, at times, to watch. All of the exciting scenes take place in the dark, and the lighting, probably brilliant when seen in a theatre, all but disappear on the DVD and the small screen. This absence of light is an all-too-common problem with DVDs. In this film, the most exciting and even pivotal scenes are filmed in what amounts to near-opaqueness. You literally do not know what is happening. Most irritating.
