Hitman - The Movie?

Is it just me, or could the games be turned to a pretty cool movie. I admit that I haven't played this game a lot, but when I played it felt a lot like watching a movie. Especially the music is good. I think it could make a kick-ass movie. Anyway, that's just one guy's opinion. What do you think?

reply

I agree this could be a good movie. Yul Brynner would be the perfect Hitman if he wasn't dead. Who do you think could play Hitman today? an interesting question.

reply

A lot of people have suggested Jason Statham after his performance in the Transporter. Here is the best pic I could find though watch the first 10 minutes of the movie for the Hitman-esk performance:

I've also heard Billy Zane's name thrown around, though I think he's too good looking/pretty-boyish even though he's a good actor. I think Vinnie Jones (Bullet Tooth Tony) from Snatch would be an okay choice as he's got the accent and tough looks, too.

The story and directing would have to be really good to make this a good movie, however. I just can't see it being as fun or exciting as the game experience, IMHO. Almost like trying to make Resident Evil into a movie... hey wait... :)

reply

I've thought about Jason Statham also after seeing "The Transporter". He's got the clothes down, but I'm not sure he's the right guy. But he'd be a hell of a lot better than Billy Zane. As for Vinnie Jones: The guy is cool, no dought about that. But I'm not sure about him either.
Personally I think that Nicolas Cage would be a good choice. The chance of him wanting to do a movie like this is slim, but I think he'd be my number one choice.

reply

i thought of Jason Statham for this part for so long. I wish theyd make this a movie. it would be great.

reply

I'd love to see John Malkovich (mind the spelling) play 47. And Joan Cusak could be the voice of...well, whatever that girl's name is.

Come to think of it.. Not the best actor I know (or at least that I know anyway), but wouldn't Dolph Lundgren fit pretty well both appearance wise and voice wise?

LOL, he even has his own site -- http://www.dolphlundgren.com. See, that's Agent 47 right there :-).

reply

I think that Peter Stormare would be a perfect 47.

Has anyone remembered Leon????? I mean thats a hitman at his best, however I do believe if they make a 'Hitman' movie, that Jason Statham would be one of the best choises. However too many fans of the movie Leon will mostly likely judge 'Hitman' too hard, because Leon was so professionally made. I would like to see a Hitman movie as long as they don't have a no name director or produce it, as well as the movie itself should not be unrealistic as alot of movies now a day are. Also, the trailer for 'Contracts' looks very appealing.

Billy Zane, Michael Weatherly, Jason Statham this 3 are good choice for Hitman.

reply

[deleted]

Weatherly actor from "Dark Angel" tv series, he also play in "Gun Shy" and "Trigger Happy" (oposite with Rosario Dawnson).

reply

Hey guys,

My friend suggested Pete Postlethwaite to play 47. He's got the look and accent, but he might be a little short and/or old (almost 60!) for the part. Oh well, an unknown would probably be the best. Look at Hugh Jackman's success.

put the guy that does 47's voice

oooh, very nice choice, i could totally see this guy as 47. He's got the slanted brow and those sad eyes, he'd be perfect, i'm just imagining him Bald..

I think Jason Stathom would be good but who would direct it and who would write it. Quentin Tarantino is very good when it comes to violent movies but I dont know. Maybe James Cameron. He did good on the Terminator films.

For director... Roger Donaldson
For writing credits... Kurt Wimmer

i agree with these guys, jason statham no doubt. but the game was pretty weak to me, very bad controls and playability (sp?)

I agree that the music in Silent Assassin is great, and wouldn't be out of place in a film. However unlike Max Payne, where it is easy to think of an actor to fit the role (Michael Madsen, Mel Gibson, Peter Krause), I'm at a loss as to who would play Mr. 47.... but I heard someone mention Peter Stormare...

I think Danny Trejo would make a pretty good Sergei, and if the first game is consider, Al Pacino just has to play Pablo! (If he was younger)

reply

Somebody mentioned Steve Buscemi. I honestly don't know if that would work, but I'd damn sure like to see it!

reply

i think clive owen would be best suited for the role of 47, he has already played an assassin in the movie The Bourne Identity, i think he would be perfect.

reply

I keep having this image of owen wilson doing it and it completely ruining my respect for video game movies for the rest of my life

reply

Lol, yeah Owen Wilson would be somewhat unusual for this role. The first actor that came to mind for me was Christian Bale. He's probably around the same age 47 would be, he has experience in action movies and just look this photo and imagine him bald:

http://www.imdb.com/gallery/ss/0144084/Ss/0144084/1-4.jpg

reply

I'm not sure how you could go past Jason Statham. However Peter Stormare is an interesting suggestion.

reply

Have any of you seen the movie The Untouchables?
The guy who played Frank Nitti (Billy Drago) looked just like 47 on the cover of the first game. Just needed to be bald.

And what's with this Nicholas Cage crap? He would be one of the last coices I'd make.

reply

Anyone seen Things To Do In Denver When Your Dead? Steve Buscemi's character was not that unlike 47. I reckon he could pull it off.
In a film, I would want Lei Ling and the CIA guy to make an appearence as well...that would be cool...
I stand by my statement that Sergei = Danny Trejo

As for Owen Wilson, I don't dislike him, but I don't think his name should really have been brought up.

Looks like everybody forgot Vin Diesel.

dear god i would boycott if he would ever be cast as 47
Smokey, this is not 'Nam. This is bowling. There are rules.

reply

Mitch Pileggi. If there's any doubt, see Shocker.

Aside from him, Jason Statham.

reply

If it was a movie, It would have Uwe Boll directing, and Chris O'Donnel as 47. SAD, BUT TRUE.

I can't imagine any of the respected actor that have been mentioned doing this movie, so you could get someone who'll be up for it. Eg. BRUCE CAMPBELL!!! Hard to imagine how he'd look bald, but dear God, anyone but Vin Diesel.

reply

Listen to me.

The ONLY actor for this movie is David Bateson. The real voice of Hitman. He's even bald, as I can see, and would look apropriate for the role.

It's a combination that is impossible to beat. He's the only real Hitman.

reply

[deleted]

Don't let UWE Boll touch this movie!! Just look at what he has done to other movies!!

reply

If you're gonna go with a no name director and writer, go all the way. Here's the perfect "no-name" actor - http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1637750/ The look, the age, the physicality.

A tad bit of self-promotion, but I'm right.

reply

Well, I must admit, you definitely got the look. But can you act?

Oops! Never mind, this would be a Hollywood action flick, no need to be able to act.

Just messing with you:)

You got my vote.

reply

Pete Postlethwaite (the bald guy from jurassic park 2) would be realy good, he looks just like mister 47
