Best out of the whole series

Well liking something story-wise and gameplay-wise are different. I've played all but the 3rd one: Contracts. And I have yet to play Silent Assassin all the way through. Man Hidden Valley and At The Gates are a BITCH! As far as trying to make silent assassin/be stealthy/discreet etc. SUCH a pain in the ass. And this is on normal mode! Currently I'm on At The Gates (God that name makes me think of the band At The Gates which have been around way longer).

Silent Assassin is the title that made me fall for the franchise. You never forget your first love. It has many gameplay flaws but still has more of an emotional impact on the gamer than any other game I can think of. The ambiance, the amazing soundtrack, the decors, it was a masterpiece. And it never felt like pushing too much or using cheap ploys. Plus it makes you really want to master it. You must have that perfect rating gameplay whereas in more recent ones perfection feels more like an optional objective.

A whole night of binge playing S.A. is almost normal,and then you spend the following days thinking in term of gameplay when you are back to the real world, analysing many scenes from work or in the street as if you were planning a hit.

Obviously Blood Money was superior in many aspects except that it did not involve the player emotionally as much as silent assassin did.

Now dont get me started on that piece of garbage they called Absolution.
