What is the ending with her daughter supposed to represent? Spoilers

Did her daughter reincarnate into a modern woman or was transported as is into the future? A bit inexplicable to me.
I think it's supposed to symbolise that, despite Boudicca's defeat at the hands of the Romans, her people do still survive on in modern times in the blood of their descendents. If that's the case, the use of the actress is just a shorthand to make that point, rather than just having a random red-head.
