Has anyone seen it?

Is it really any good? As someone who loves Viking movies, would I enjoy it? I do find it somewhat discouraging that there is not one single review and that it is so poorly rated.

I've seen it. Its really good. If you like Conan and stuff like that you'll like it. Its probably got a bad rating because its not very original (beauty and the beast has been done 1000 times). You might be annoyed that its not very true to viking times. One of the girls is wearing a modern bra in the opeing scene while she is swimming. Overall its a great movie.

Actually, I love Conan and the likes, so It might be worth checking out. I'll just have to overlook the Viking inaccuracies (something I've had to get used to anyway)

Thanks for responding :)

My personal opinion, the movie is *beep* The acting made me die a little inside and anyone who knows anything about Vikings would laugh and even be offended by some major and completely unforgivable inaccuracies of how Viking society worked.

reply

Yup, I'm with you. I found it at the local video store tonight and decided to give it a shot. I can't even begin to tell you how awful I thought this movie was - words escape me. Truly the worst depiction of Vikings I've ever seen. Actually, I think it's the worst movie I've ever seen!

I tend to be able to look past the horrible horrible acting and makeup/hair when a movie's storyline is good, but this was just another Beauty and the Beast movie and really, really sucked. Nothing about it is spectacular, I'm surprised I watched the whole movie.

Same here man, It sucked big time, and the ending. OMG, Horrible! I remember when I went to check this movie out the clerk, who was one hell of a strange woman, said to me, "this movie will be a cherished favorite for years to come." Boy is she F'd up in the head! The acting was horrible, and the graphics for the beast; I know its not that expensive to throw in a little better CG than the crappy bear costume they put him in!

i just watched it. checked it out from blockbuster. lame writing, incredibly bad lack of sets, costumes are awful, as are about 75% of the actors. it's like a made for TV viking movie from the 1970s. except it's new.

on the plus side, i'm a sucker for the beauty and the beast story, and a sucker for jane march. if you want a great viking movie don't see it. if you want a corny low-budget conan with a more engaging love story [though corny and predictable] go get it. thumbs up from me.

it's called "blood of beasts" on the dvd.

I had the unfortune to wake up while other members of my household were watching this movie. The bit that I saw, based on acting, costumes (including the king;s fake-looking hair), and story were lacking, to say the least. I love this quote,
". lame writing, incredibly bad lack of sets, costumes are awful, as are about 75% of the actors. it's like a made for TV viking movie from the 1970s. except it's new. "
that pretty much summed it up for me, too!

but it does have jane march.... always a plus! :-)

no. re-watch "the lover".

It is a good movie. You just have to look past some of the really up front details that show the movie isn't to Viking styles.
I love Viking movies. My fav Viking movie is "Curse of the Ring" followed by this and "The Vikings"
Look, most movies like King Arthur(2004) get bad ratings, but are actually quite brilliant movies.
Don't take the critics advice, take your own and watch the movie.

Hope this helps...
