Product Placement! (GE is the only company I'd buy a oven from)

I went on to iTunes and downloaded the entire "The Hire" series. I then took my perfectly designed Apple laptop to my compfy Lazyboy recliner. To fully enjoyed the experience I popped open an amazingly refreshing can of Pepsi, and prepared a Digiorno frozen pizza, a feist that no human can resist. All the while I enhanced my comfort level even further by putting on the underwear that has no competition on this planet: Fruit of the Loom, one of the most trusted and revered brands of apparel for the entire family. Could my night get any better? I made sure it did when I put on my Bose headphones. I was ready to watch the first film!.... But wait! I have terrible vision! I needed the best contact lenses around: Acuvue, the world leader in contacts and vision care...Ok, now I was ready to begin my night.

FIRST OF ALL:

Was it that OBVIOUS to anyone else or was it just me?!?!?!??!!!!! Everywhere I looked it was BMW, BMW, BM freaking W!!

there are 8 "The Hire" films and in EVERY one Clive Owen is drving a BMW. I really think that drives down the integrity of the otherwise very well done film(s).
I figured since they got big actors and big directors whatever low-budget studio had to find a way to pay for making these films somehow, but come on!! Keep your pride intact for goodness sake!!

Hey um dumbass, its a BMW film series, they sponsored The Hire series. So of course their cars are going to be used.

Hello, you're riding the Irony Express, to you're left you'll see the beautiful scenery, and riiiight about now we are going directly over putter_b's head.

You, see... I used irony... It's funny. I even made a symbolical "Irony Express" to authenticate said irony.

what ever helps you sleep at night.

reply

You're an I-ron!

That wasn't exactly irony, I doubt you know what irony is. You were using sarcasm.

Irony would be if you got flatted by a train with "Irony Express" written in 6 foot tall letter on the side, which was carrying a delivery of Pepsi, Lay-Z-Boys, and Acuvue lenses, and where then driven to the hospital BY Clive Owen IN a brand new, fabulously sleek, top-of-the-range BMW M5 Coupe.

reply

One big difference between sarcasm is that irony is unintentional. For some reason, I doubt the "coincidences" in the original post were that at all.

reply

Ha ha, I forgot about that post.

Thats the thing about my post, I had kinda created irony by pretending to be oblivious to what I was writing. If you saw that unfold in the context of a scene on a TV show you would view it as irony and not sarcasm, right?

I also have nothing against the The Hire films as they were made quite well.

reply

Mate... No such thing as an M5 coupé :P
