Are all japanese insane?

It looks like the Japanese people either scream insanely or speak softly like Master Yoda.
It was so annoying to watch all the screaming and the bulging eyes, as if every one of them was insane.

The campy acting might've been intended for this film (the humor had to have been--my friends and I got a ton of laughs out of this when we saw it at a digital film fest last night).

Then again, I've seen a number of Japanese films (not nearly as many as many of the Japanese film fans on here, but enough) and the overracting is pretty prevalent.

I can't figure out if it's just a style of acting (watch old American films and you'll see what I mean--they speak more theatrically. It took a while for movement and dialogue to become more realistic in film & TV), or if the majority of Japanese actors are just bad at their craft. Maybe due to a smaller pool of talent (smaller populace) to pull from ?

It extends to anime through their voice acting as well, pretty often. If an English dub isn't too horrible, I'll usually opt for that over the subtitles (but like to watch both eventually, if I have the time).

Uh well. They're screaming because they're scared, teenagers at war, watching their friends die, being injured, about ready to die...

They are just terrible nonsensical actors, all jp movies are junk like this.
