Sorry but he's completely innocent

Before anyone gets all crazy, just bare with me. Sure some of the things he did were probably not good or nice or whatever but everyone's standards are different and that's why I say he was completely innocent. There ARE women out there that are totally passive and subservient and LIKE to be dominated (which was apparently his type) and there are women that are strong and independent (my type for sure) that won't go for any of that. I feel that she led him to believe that she was the former because she acted that way from the start.

She said that he was the way he was from the very beginning! From their honeymoon! He continued to be the same man she married for 15 years or whatever. He didn't change into all of the things she hated about him!! If she didn't like how he was, she should have opened her mouth and said something IN THE BEGINNING. He told her that he thought they had a good marriage. You know why he thought that? Because she never gave him any reason not to think that and that was her fault 100%!!

Did she tell him that she hated being called Alex? Did she tell him she didn't like his disproportionately high sex drive? Did she tell him she didn't like the cucumber or the vibrator? Did she tell him she didn't like his finger in her cooch? By what I saw, NO!! He was just supposed to know even though she was totally passive from DAY ONE!!Her way of telling him she didn't like his finger up her was to stop wearing skirts!! He was supposed to read into that?!?!?! Pa-LEASE!! Did she say or do anything about having to "beg" him for money? No and evidently he wouldn't have had a problem with her getting a job or she would have complained about that too.

She was miserable with her little insignificant life that she CRAFTED FOR HERSELF BY HERSELF by her own complacency and apathy and took it out on a poor schmuck who believed that she was happy because she allowed him to believe that she was.

How was he even remotely at fault?

I don't love her.. She kicked me in the face!!

In your opinion he was completely innocent likely because you had the skewed perception of she expected him to be a mind reader (when in fact the movies explicitly showed that she had went over and over and over and over to him about what she didn't like). Always amusing to me how often people use this 'women expect men to be mind readers' trope.

" He told her that he thought they had a good marriage. You know why he thought that? Because she never gave him any reason not to think that and that was her fault 100%!! "
Likely he thought they had a good marriage because he was only thinking about his happiness. She gave him plenty of reason to not think that if he had considered her happiness as there is a central point in the movie highlighting that he's heard all her complaints from her before. In fact he says he heard it all before from here, it was nothing prozac couldn't fix and actually skipped the first part of the tape saying he had heard all before it wasn't until she pulled the gun that he started listening. I find it quite common for guys to tune out their girlfriends/wives and dismiss their girlfriends/wives complaints and concerns as nagging. It's really telling that it's only when she pulls out the gun that he seems to pay any attention and in my opinion if your partner has to go to such extremes to *force* you to listen then you're likely a sh*tty and selfish partner. It's even more telling how you missed that and got that he's completely innocent as if she never spoke up.

Then he was _arguably_ a bad spouse, but for her to try and erase their kids from his life is insane. If someone's not getting the hint, the next logical step is the come right out with it, not set up a $10k camera system, change the locks, and try to deny him his share of raising his children. Whatever his failings as a husband, she's the monster here. But that's just what _I_ see between the lines, so maybe i'm crazy.
