IT'S ACTUALLY HER VOICE?!?!?!?!

i saw the actress who plays Rosheen on some chat show the other day and nearly died when i heard her speak. i thought she was just acting... badly. But no, that's her voice. she sounds like a pirate that's had a stroke. let's point and laugh.

(P.S I love river city but her voice is funny.)

"your gonna want to find a safe house ,cause your probably wanted for murder."

she is from Aberdeen, I am from Aberdeen but i can tell you i don't have that accent. She must have moved around alot, cos it's well *beep* up lol.

i recall a scene she did with raymond the other week. she was speaking for about 2 minutes and then raymond seemed too sum up what the viewrs where thinking when he replied too her 'WIT?'.
i like her, i really do, but, time for subtitles i think.

reply

she speaks doric, it is the language we use up in the north east of scotland. it is really quite strong in Aberdeen. i find her really easy to understand, although i cringe when i hear the accent :-)

reply

A lot of people who've been in River City went to the drama/theatre thing I used to go to on a Saturday. I only went for about 6 months though cos they kept putting me in the bottom dance group when I was studying professional levels at a dancing school!

Anyway, my point is, with a few exceptions, all the people who'd been at that place for years tended to be exactly the same when they were acting.

Thank goodness I left!

did u leave or was you pushed cos they found out you could act ? ;op lol

reply

I left cos of the dance-class situation and being ignored when I tried to make a complaint about it.

Some people in one of my classes were really bad at dancing, singing AND acting... I couldn't work out how on earth they got in!

You wouldna get a Dundee accent on TV, 'cos we've got more of a dialect than an accent, all spruggies and klowpin' kundies, the actor Brian Cox had to learn English before he took up acting.

I cringe when I see The View being interviewed, you canna say "gie it lalldy" to someone from Paris. You only speak Dundonian when yer around Dundonians.

What kind o' people put a bunnet on one end and baffies on the other? Dundonians, that's who! How could I've no been born in Afghanistan? Jeezo.
